Join the great explorers on a journey up El Camino Real, the Royal Road. This rugged highway, used by Spanish settlers, mountain men, native tribes, merchants, missionaries, and military scouts supported commerce throughout the territory and was used to transport animal skins harvested in the Spanish fur and leather trade. The conquistadors traveled this path in search of the fabled Cities of Gold, also known as Cibola. Others came to settle along the foothills of the beautiful and arid southern Rocky Mountains. Missionaries established churches in the towns that sprung up along the route allowing the Gospel to be spread throughout the region. The courageous frontiersmen of the Plainsmen Territory will once again follow in the tradition of those explorers and travel in search of the Cibola, the majestic wilderness of central New Mexico. As we prepare for the fun and foofaraw at Rendezvous, be reminded of why we get together. It will be a time for grizzled Oldtimers to mentor young men in principles of Godly Manhood and help them acquire the tools needed to travel Christ’s Royal Road to the heavenly City of Gold. It will be a time of spiritual renewal and a time to encourage each other in true friendship and Christian fellowship. At the very least, come and relax and take time to view God’s wonderful creation.
